There will be approximately 2,000 students and 400 teachers accompanying them. There are 20 computer contests and San Antonio College will be hosting that portion and 31 judged contests. Both competitions involve presenting a plan of action and problem solution to the judges.
Judges arrive at 7:15 a.m. for an appreciation breakfast and begin judging at 8:00 a.m.
Some of the events judged:
Advanced Interview Skills: Students will fill out an actual job application and go through
the interview process.
Prepared Speech:
Students will deliver a 3-5 minute speech.
Extemporaneous Speech: Students draw 2 topics and choose 1 to use as their topic; they have 10 minutes to prepare.
Human Resource Management: Students are given a case problem and demonstrate knowledge of
human resources management and management concepts.
Presentation Management Individual: Students use current desktop technologies and software to
prepare an effective multimedia presentation.
Middle Level Verbal Communications: this is our junior high school contest where a student has a prepared speech to deliver. Their contest time is
Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Network Design Team: Thursday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The teams will analyze existing business environments and develop a strategy for
business environments. These teams will present their problem to the judges.
